Draft
Environmental Impact Report

The draft
environmental impact report (DEIR) prepared
for the General Plan is designed to meet the
requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA). The Planning Commission,
City Council, the community, and interested
public agencies will use the EIR during
review of the draft General Plan in order to
understand the potential environmental
implications associated with implementation
of the General Plan.
The DEIR
has a public review period of 45 days,
starting on December 14, 2007 and ending on
January 31, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Any written
comments on the DEIR should be sent to the
City of Tulare Planning and Building
Department at the address below to the
attention of Mark Kielty, Planning and
Building Director.

The DEIR
contains the full project description, the
environmental effects and mitigation
measures associated with the General Plan
Update, and an evaluation of project
alternatives. Copies of this report are
available for review at the Planning and
Building Department (see address above).
