POLICY
DIRECTIONS/CHOICES

Over the course of the last several months,
the project team has been working with the
General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) and
the community on the identification of the
key issues to be addressed in the General
Plan. The issues identified were based on
input from the public, GPAC members, and
staff. Using the key issues identified, a
number of broad policy directions were
discussed with the GPAC. The purpose of this
exercise was to gain an understanding of the
overall direction that the General Plan
should take. This understanding will help
ensure that the draft General Plan meets the
expectations of the community.
Using a question / response format, this
report presents to the City Council and
Planning Commission the policy directions
that will be used to craft the General Plan.
At this time, we are looking to the City
Council and Planning Commission to confirm,
modify, or add to the policy directions
presented.
